The much anticipated multi-million dollar renovation for Yankee Ridge has begun! IGW Architecture has designed 2 additions to the current building, as well as major and minor remodeling of much of the existing 40,625 square foot building. The additions will include a new gym, kitchen and 3 fine arts classrooms to the north and west edge of the building. Eight classrooms will be built on to the east wing of the building, changing Yankee Ridge from having 2 classrooms at each grade level to having 3 classrooms in most grade levels. These 26,750 square foot additions will increase the building size to 67,375 square feet. Additional parking and a bus drop off area will be added on the north side by Mumford Dr. The east parking lot on Anderson St. will be expanded to include more staff parking and a parent drop off area. This summer Yankee Ridge’s playgrounds will be relocated to accommodate the changes. We are grateful to our generous PTA which purchased some additional playground equipment to further enhance our students’ recess times.
While the overall renovation is expected to be completed by the start of the 2018-19 school year, the school will remain open during the 2017-18 school year. See this link for a detailed description of the project: Yankee Ridge Renovation plans
