The Board was given an overview of a proposed three year E-Learning Plan. The previous e-learning plan expired at the end of the 2025-26 school year.
Process to create the updated plan:
- Families and staff were sent surveys to give feedback on their experience with e-learning
- A committee was created to look at the previous plan, the survey responses, attendance data for previous e-learning days and the ISBE requirements
Survey
The biggest response for challenges with e-learning at the elementary level was the ability to support their student during e-learning and the packet access and organization. At the high school level, families also noted challenges with supporting their student.
Proposed E-Learning Plan: Elementary
- Updated e-learning packets with choice boards (consistent across grade levels, no matter the school)
- The packets will be more aligned with what the student is currently learning
- The packets contain up to five hours of learning time and are available in Spanish and French
- Packets are available as digital downloads
- Updated attendance procedures
Proposed E-Learning Plan: Secondary
- Up to 30 minutes of activity per subject
- Additional training on Google Classroom for teachers
- Office hours during school hours (and consistency across departments)
For Special Education students, the teachers will have access to the packets/Google Classroom, in order to make accommodations for their students.
Students will still have up to three days to turn in assignments from an e-learning day.
