Welcome to Yankee Ridge Multilingual Elementary

Welcome! Whether you are joining our school community for the first time or returning for another wonderful year, we are so happy you are here. On behalf of our entire staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Yankee Ridge Multilingual Elementary School, a place where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to shine.

Yankee Ridge Multilingual Elementary School is Urbana School District's K–5 dual language immersion school, offering Spanish and French two-way immersion programs where students learn alongside peers from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Together, they develop bilingualism, biliteracy, high academic achievement, and cross-cultural understanding while building meaningful friendships that celebrate the richness of our community.

We believe every language, culture, and life experience enriches our school. We honor and celebrate our students' native languages and cultures while fostering a safe, inclusive, and joyful learning environment where every child and family feels welcomed, connected, and empowered to succeed.
